Neurology
The Mercy Neuroscience Center has the Compass and the Regulus Stereotactic Neurological Systems, the first
of their kind acquired by a community hospital in the United States. Stereotactic neurosurgery is performed with the use of a treatment planning computer, CT and MRI studies, lasers and other highly specialized equipment, and special neurosurgical suites.
The Center's staff includes physicians specializing in neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, neuro-oncology, and neurodiagnostics, as well as specially trained neuroscience nurses, technicians, and rehabilitation professionals. Patients who would otherwise have to leave the area for neuroscience services, including physical and occupational therapy, can find the care they need at Mercy.
